Many offers are limited and require ID at time of purchase or pick-up. Check with each theater about availability before you go if information is not available online. Some discounts are only available in person. Online codes are provided on individual websites. Goldstar and TodayTix also provide discount tickets at many local theaters.

Information on ticket discounts is provided as a curtesy to encourage show attendance, however, tickets sales often do not cover all the expenses of a non-profit theater. Therefore, if you have the ability to pay full price, or make a donation to local theaters, please do so. Thank you for your support of the theater!

Kennedy Center 
KC's MyTix program offers $10-$39 tickets to students (elementary through Undergrad), those ages 18-30, and military personnel. Weekly discounted tickets to most shows and programs are available at https://www.kennedy-center.org/mytix/.
Additional 50% off discounted tickets are available for seniors over 65, students (elementary to Graduate school), military personnel (E1-E4), persons with disabilities and persons with fixed and low incomes. https://www.kennedy-center.org/contact/specially-priced-tickets/

Arena Stage
Pay Your Age tickets are available if you are under 30 and just like the name says, your age determines the price. Use Promo Code UNDER30 to see what productions are available. Student tickets are also available by phone at 35% off regular ticket prices.
All teachers and school staff are able to purchase discounted tickets at 20% off the regular ticket prices for each production in the season using the Apple discount program. One school ID is valid for up to four tickets. 
Patrons who reside or work in Southwest DC; U.S. military veterans, personnel, spouses, and families; Nurses, Police, EMT, Firefighters, and other first responders; 
Reduced price HOTTIX are sold when available 90 minutes before curtain.

Signature Theatre
Students: $25 Student tickets are available in Tiers 2 and 3 for every performance for full-time students (ID required). Use promo code STU25 or call box office.
Educators: 25% off tickets for teachers and school support staff are offered for all main stage shows (does not include cabarets, concerts, special events). Use code TEACH (tickets held at will call –– must present valid I.D.)
Families: For families of 4 with 2 children between 5-17, family-packs are available for $150  Call (703) 820-9771 to purchase.
Special categories: The theater offers 25% discounts to first responders (police officers, EMTs, firefighters, nurses and other first responders), frontline workers (grocery, retail, food service, delivery drivers, sanitation workers and other frontline workers), and veterans, retirees, Active Duty Military and their immediate families.
Last minute: $30 Rush tickets are offered when seats are available at the Box Office beginning one hour prior to show. 
General: A limited number of $40 tickets and student tickets are available for every performance.
The theater also partners with TodayTix to provide a limited number of $30 tickets for each production, generally in the first one to two weeks of the run of each production, released on a first-come, first-served basis on the Tuesday prior to the first performance of the production.
 
Studio Theatre
Teachers and students can purchase $20 tickets using the codes EDUCATOR or STUDENT.
20% discounts are available to those 30 and Under; Frontline healthcare workers, police officers, EMTs, and firefighters; and, US military veterans, personnel, and their families.
Senior Citizens (62+) receive a $5 discount on their tickets with promo code SENIOR.
Industry professionals including local creatives and fellow theatre artists can receive $20 tickets with promo code INDUSTRY.
Rush Tickets: when available $30 tickets are sold 30 minutes prior to the start of the show. Tickets must be purchased at the Box Office. 

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company

Woolly offers a few Pay-What-You-Will tickets to every performance throughout the year. The first two performances of every show are completely Pay-What-You-Will with tickets are sold online, in-person and through TodayTix.
Educators: 20% discount to DC public school teachers for up to 4 tickets. Undergrad and Graduate students and anyone Under 30 can purchase reduced price tickets ($20 and up).
Military: 20% discount off of our regular ticket prices for all U.S. military personnel, spouses, and children, and U.S. veterans
Playwrights: Free ticket for Dramatists Guild members are available at the Box Office.
Rush tickets: Some $20 balcony seats are reserved and sold 2-hours prior to showtime at the box office. 

Ford's Theatre
Free and reduced price tickets to previews are offered.
Discounts available to military personnel and veterans. Discounts to certain performances are available to those under 40 and over 60. 

​Folger Shakespeare Theatre 
Discounts are offered for theater-goers 35 & under, Veterans, active duty members of the military, and dependents, and Seniors over 65 ($10 off the full cost of any ticket for Folger Theatre and $5 off Folger Consort).
Members are offered up to $10 off tickets to most programs. Teacher memberships are also available for $40.
First-time attendees to the theater can reserve up to 2 tickets at a special discount by calling the box office.
Rush tickets: when available, Rush tickets are sold in person an hour before the event.
 
Shakespeare Theatre 
Those 35 and under can purchase tickets for $35. 
Senior Citizens (60+) receive a 10% discount. 35% discount for Wednesday noon matinees.
Military and First Responders can receive 25% discount on ticket prices for those in or retired from the military as well as EMS, police, and fire fighters. 
Neighborhood Nights: Patrons who live or work in the areas nearest STC can buy tickets discounted by up to 66% for specially designated Neighborhood Night performances. Each patron is limited to four tickets Neighborhood Night participants are this in the 20004, 20003, 20024, 20017 zip codes. Use promo code 109542 at checkout to access this discount.
Rush Tickets are available in-person for $35 starting two hours before show time.

Keegan Theatre
Some workshops/special shows offer pay as you will opportunities.
Single show Adult tickets often range from $50 – $60 with discounts available for patrons under 25 and over 62 and groups of 10 or more. Discounted rush tickets are also available at the door starting 1 hour before showtime. Call for details 202-265-3767.

Round House
Round House provide free tickets for anyone age 13 through college for mainstage productions. ID required. 
Pay-What-You-Can: Two PWYC performances are scheduled during the first week of each production. Sales are online or by phone only beginning one week before the first performance of each show.

Theatre Union Discounts: Members of Actors' Equity, Dramatists Guild, IATSE, USA, and SDC may purchase up to two tickets at $10 each on the day of the performance at the Box Office.

Olney Theatre
Student (under 18) and Senior (65+) discounts: $5 off. .
Educators: 50% off tickets to performances on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Use the code TEACH when purchasing online. Limit of 4 per purchase.
Active Military, Disabled Veterans and First Responders: $20 off tickets. 
Student Rush Tickets: $20 tickets are available for purchase at the Box Office for students with valid IDs for same-day performances.
First Time Free: Never been to Olney Theatre? You can get 4 free tickets to preview performances of one of our shows during the first three to five performances of a run. These tickets are usually available  30 days in advance of the first performance. In order to qualify, you must be a new customer with no purchase or attendance history in our database. Enter the code 1stTimeFree when purchasing online. Limit 4 per household. 
Olney-area residents (zip code 20832) can sometimes get $32 tickets to Wednesday or Thursday evening performances.
